 More than likely NHS waiting lists will become that next political hot potato as covid, hopefully, recedes. I had to travel out of area for a procedure on Monday and was happy, and grateful, to do so. I realise that all may not be able to do this and I appreciate that but I do think it would be helpful for those who can in aid of reducing lists and waiting times. When I had my bone marrow transplant I was facing a month in hospital but they offered ambulatory care. As long as I had someone with me 24/7 I could go into the hospital in the morning but spend nights at a nearby hotel. I had emergency numbers to call and felt supported by specialist nurses.   I was crying and in a distressed state, and a gentleman on the way that I saw approached me to check I was ok and said he would walk me home. I felt like I couldn’t say no, and luckily for my sake he was one of the good ones and actually did walk me to my door and then leave without hurting me. Looking back, that could have so easily ended up differently. In hindsight I wasn’t in the right frame of mine to be going out and partying because that’s something I would never do now. I just feel so much for the women who have no choice but to walk places alone frequently, because it must be so draining on a regular basis.  This may come across like am actually crazy but early in the morning when am going to work (I leave at 6.30am and get the bus) I pretend am on the phone talking to a friend as I live in a rough area. I would actually call someone but at that time people are usually still asleep. So if you're like me that feels uneasy or don't really have any friends or family to call at times just do what I do. It helps me calm my anxiety although alot of you will think am mental talking to myself. I get anxiety when going out after dark. If my husband isn’t with me I call him.  Yes it is true there might be some barriers to women’s education and men to work or find a work. Lets don’t expect every country to have the same living style as we have. Ladies now probably are safer due to phones and technology, if it happens often the police are able to apprehend the person quicker as well.  There will be multiple collisions every hour across the city, because of a human nature, if people disobey driving rules and pretty much everyone exceeds max driving speed, in the air specially first decade people will do crazy things, not only young but all ages.  Man, this is not right. Assess the patient and if really you cannot respond to such a call tell the person to try to arrange a friend or cab to transport the patient, something! I understand covid is frightening but with an ffp2 mask and all windows down whoever have transported the lady would have dim chances of getting it. What on Earth? Tragic. But instead of making calls and wasting precious time, why not put the patient in a car and take it to the hospital like how we Indians do here in India?  We couldn't put him in a cab even if we had wanted to because he couldn't move, in too much pain. This was pre Covid so I pity anyone who needs an ambulance now. The same thing happened on the day before he died in 2018, we waited almost two hours for an ambulance, he died the next morning. Sometimes you cannot call a cab, it doesn't work like that for everyone and it's naive to think you can. It lives with me still, and always will. The ambulance service has a finite number of resources.  How sad ....I'm afraid of the word NHS, I almost died a few years ago under this name. They were laughing at me, then they send me home bleeding to death. I was in so much pain. I would have died if i didn't had faith in God. They told me it's a mid age crisis I'm having..... It was a joke for them. The next day, I forced myself to go back there, was given 2 units of blood. They ignored me for 5 hour before i was admitted. Yes....bleeding all the way. It was a hemorrhage situation. It's difficult to trust, because of how they behave. Laughing at a patient??
