 They used the crisis to their own gain.They made it legitimate because,well ,the government was in their hands after all. But eventually,they had to fake us with democracy and election because the sanctions were getting stricter and they were having difficulty in governing themselves.Then came 2015 election where Daw Aung San Su Kyi won in a landslide. In 2008 constitutional law ,the elected government doesn’t have control over military and security,also police and border control.All were controlled by Commander in Chief of military.Not even that, the military also have control over 25% of the seats in Congress.They had already taken steps to consolidate their power with the pretense of democracy.We had to grudgingly accept because we know it’s fake but it’s democracy nonetheless,and in the future,we might be able to change that and achieve true democracy.
