 Frank Cafolla I don’t care much for Stacey, however calling addicts ‘losers’ and claiming they are blaming the painkiller is a bit short sighted. An addict is an addict is an addict, whether it’s painkillers, alcohol, meth, heroine, etc they are suffering from an disease that is rooted in mental health issues and a way of coping with that pain. No one, not even her in this article, is saying those who suffer chronic pain shouldn’t have access to these drugs, those who speak out against them are saying they shouldn’t be as easily accessible as they are for those who are not diagnosed with chronic pain and are obtaining them illegally be that off the streets or through heinous prescriptions or diagnoses from doctors exploiting their addiction fir their own personal wealth and gain. Both can exist without one taking from the other and that is the goal.

  I was crying and in a distressed state, and a gentleman on the way that I saw approached me to check I was ok and said he would walk me home. I felt like I couldn’t say no, and luckily for my sake he was one of the good ones and actually did walk me to my door and then leave without hurting me. Looking back, that could have so easily ended up differently. In hindsight I wasn’t in the right frame of mine to be going out and partying because that’s something I would never do now. I just feel so much for the women who have no choice but to walk places alone frequently, because it must be so draining on a regular basis.
