Daniel Halpern is the author of seven collections of poetry, most recently Foreign Neon (1991) and Selected Poems (1994), and is the recipient of many grants and awards, including fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts. He is editor-in-chief of the Ecco Press and was the founder and editor of Antaeus, an international literary magazine, which he edited from 1969 to 1995. In 1993, he was awarded the PEN Publisher Citation for his work at Ecco. He has edited many anthologies, including Plays in One Act, Writers on Artists, and The Art of the Tale: An International Anthology of Short Stories.
